Series- Daughters of Zeus Book #1

There are worse things than death, worse people too.
The “talk” was bad enough, but how many teens get told that they’re a goddess? When her mom tells her, Persephone is sure her mother has lost her mind. It isn’t until Boreas, the god of winter, tries to abduct her that she realizes her mother was telling the truth. Hades rescues her, and in order to safely bring Persephone to the Underworld he marks her as his bride. But Boreas will stop at nothing to get Persephone. Despite her growing feelings for Hades, Persephone wants to return to the living realm. Persephone must find a way to defeat Boreas and reclaim her life.
I always love to read Greek Mythology, especially to see how the author takes it and brings it into the modern day. Persephone is an everyday girl who has been left to believe she is just like everyone else; however, little does she know that she is being followed around by evil forces and is a goddess. Her world starts to change when she find out the truth and sees the world through a whole new set of eyes. The author doesn’t linger with boring details she brings the story to you right from the beginning to let you know that things aren’t what they seem and that Persephone is not just your every day girl. She brings you some different sides of what you know to believe even though it is still within the lines of what we know but it has deeper depths especially with where Hades is concerned. All of the surrounding characters of the story play a good part of the story and while they may not be the main characters they are still an important part of story to create the world you imagine. She has you hooked from the beginning until the end of the book.
If you like Greek Mythology I would recommend Kaitlin Bevis as a good pick so go get your copy today!
Title- Daughter of the Earth and Sky
Series- Daughters of Zeus Book # 2
Some vows can never be broken.
Persephone thought she could go back to her normal life after returning from the Underworld. She was wrong.
The goddess Aphrodite is born among the waves with more charm than she can control. Zeus is stalking Persephone and her loved ones, and Thanatos is no longer content with Persephone’s silence.
He wants her soul.
Persephone can’t tell anyone about Thanatos’ betrayal, and it drives a wedge between her and Hades. Her mother is still keeping secrets, and Melissa’s jealousy of Aphrodite threatens to tear their friendship apart.
Alone, Persephone turns to a human boy for comfort. But will their relationship put him in danger?
Sacrifices must be made, and Persephone must choose between her human life and her responsibilities as a goddess. If she doesn’t, she could lose them both.
But will either life be worth choosing once Zeus is through with her?
Another success in the story continues as we follow Persephone. Only in this one we already know that Persephone has found out she is a goddess and now must overcome new battles. I will have to say I enjoyed this one more than the first one but that was probably because the first one was because it brought you the beginning of the storyline while this one is more of the actual plot line in my opinion. Now that Persephone knows she is a goddess in the human world she is trying so hard to figure out how to maintain a lifestyle in both worlds. As simple as it may seem it definitely is not especially with Zeus sticking his lovely nose in the middle of it all now. He has plans of his own and does not want any interference. In this awesome sequel we have also brought on more gods that we always hear about such as Aphrodite and Thanatos.
I truly enjoyed this book and it was a complete package in one from suspense to romance to drama and a bit of comedy. This book is definitely worth picking up and reading for all ages YA and adult. It is a cliffhanger but guess what you already have the next installment out.
Title- The Iron Queen
Series- The Daughters of Zeus Book # 3
By- Kaitlin Bevis
Genre- YA Paranormal
Life is hell for Persephone. Zeus will stop at nothing to gain access to the living realm and the Underworld, and as the only living god with a right to both, Persephone’s in trouble. Captured and tortured beyond the limits of her resolve, Persephone must find the power to stand against Zeus. But will she be strong enough?
Meanwhile, Hades contemplates desperate measures to rescue his queen. Persephone never thought of herself as dangerous, but there’s a reason gods never marry for love. A being with the power to destroy all of creation shouldn’t place more value in one individual than the rest of the planet. But Hades…Hades would break the world for her.
To save the world and stop both Hades and Zeus, Persephone must make a difficult choice. One that may cost her everything.
In this version you see Zeus as the overpowering bad guy instead of Hades, and you know what if you think about it. Zeus in a way was because he wanted control over everything. Persephone has been through so much in the hands of Zeus including being tortured, while Hades is planning to try to rescue her! Hades is definitely my favorite God in Kaitlin Bevis characters because we see a different side of him (yes he is still the same) but his love for Persephone will stop at nothing. All of these books by the author did not leave you with a blinding spot so you were left wondering. She had a steady progression of the plot from one book to the next. Where the cliffhangers stopped the next one picked up, especially with this one. I loved that, because some books make you have this void where you miss some of the story. In the Iron Queen the author has twists and turns for you that you!!! This author is one that I will definitely be following in the future. Her books are amazing and I love that she keeps her readers enthralled in the world she has created for her characters.
