Title: Â Â The Club (The Club Series Book #1)
Author: Â Â Lauren Rowe
Genre:Â Â Â Contemporary Romance
Release Day:Â Â Â January 5, 2015
Synopsis:
When playboy businessman Jonas Faraday receives a private note from the anonymous intake agent assigned to process his online application to an exclusive sex club, he becomes obsessed with finding her and giving her the sexual satisfaction she claims has always eluded her, in order to fulfill his own desperate need for redemption.
Sarah : When I read Jonas Faradayâs brutally honest personal message on his application to The Club, I practically climaxed at my desk. Iâm an idiot to risk losing my job but I couldn’t resist contacting him. I knew my confession would be like dangling an irresistible carrot in front of his noseâbut never in a million years did I think heâd actually hunt me down.
Jonas : I was shocked to get my intake agentâs emailâIâd attached that note to my application on a whim, never expecting a reply from an actual person, let alone a reply as mind blowing as that. Her message was so alluring, so irresistible, Iâve been spiraling into a full-blown obsession ever since I got it. Whatâs her name? What does she look like? Finding her is my top priority.
In The Club , what starts out as an innocent exploration of sexual attraction quickly spirals into a steamy story of unbridled passion, obsession, heartbreak, and, ultimately, redemption.

Excerpt #1
I sit down on the bed, my erection poking up from beneath my towel. I canât stop staring at the picture.
âThank you,â I type. âYouâre beautiful. I canât stop looking at the photo. Iâm totally obsessed.â
âI know the feeling,â her reply comes back immediately.
I practically growl with excitement upon getting her reply. âTell me your name,â I quickly write.
âNo,â she repliesâagain, immediately.
I can barely contain myself. This woman is somewhere in this city right now, staring at me through her computer screen. My heart is racing. âNot fair. You know my name,â I type.
âLife isnât fair.â
I half-smile at my screen. âAinât that the truth,â I type. Truer words were never spoken. I sigh. âIf not your name, tell me something else. How about your age?â
âI just turned 24.â
Iâm thrilled. She finally threw me a bone. And Iâm relieved, tooâtwenty-four is good. Very good. âSee? That wasnât so hard. Happy Birthday,â I type, smiling.
âThank you.â
âPisces, then?â
âOh my God. You did not just ask me, âWhatâs your sign?ââ
I laugh out loud. âYeah, I guess I did. Iâm dumb like that sometimes.â
âWith cheesy pickup lines like that, itâs clearly thanks to your supernatural good looks and not your sparkling personality that youâve managed to be worshipped as a supreme sex-god by so many. Gosh, I expected a little more panache from you, Mr. Faraday. Arenât you supposed to be some kind of woman wizard? Oh, wait, thatâs only inside the four walls of your bedroomânever on the outside.â
I canât help but smile from ear to ear. Sheâs kicking my ass again. I love it. âYouâre right. Iâm not very good at this.â And itâs true. I mean, I can talk to women, of course. I can even flirt. Sort of. But Iâve never been great at doing it. And especially not in a situation like thisâwhen I canât look into her eyes and get a read on her. âIâm hopeless at small talk,â I type.
âThereâs no such thing.â
âNo such thing as small talk?â
âNo such thing as hopelessness. Thereâs always hope. âWe must accept infinite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.ââ
Oh God. My cock has been leaping and lurching throughout our entire exchange, but my brain just joined the fray, too. âWho said that?â
âMartin Luther King Jr.,â she types.
Sheâs a whole new breed of woman Iâve never encountered before. I exhale loudly. âHereâs one,â I type. ââHope is the dream of a waking man.ââ
âOh, I like that. Whoâs that?â
âAristotle.â
âThatâd be an awesome episode of Epic Rap Battles of HistoryâMartin Luther King Jr. vs. Aristotle. Hard to say whoâd win.â
I grunt. âStop trying to distract me, My Beautiful Intake Agent. I know exactly what youâre trying to do, but I demand to know more about you. Come on.â
âOkay, okay. Youâve worn me down, especially when you âdemandâ like that. Youâre so manly when you do that, by the wayâI like it. Okay, hereâs everything: I am a woman. I am 24. I have a Maltese named Kiki. I buy her little outfits with rhinestones on them. She is my world. The End.â
Sheâs killing me right now, even as Iâm laughing out loud. âCome on. Please. Tell me something real,â I type.
âWhy?â
I sigh. Jesus, sheâs frustrating. âBecause you know everything and I know nothing. Itâs not fair. Whereâs your sense of fair play and justice?â
âJust so you know, Iâm sighing right now. Oh, and rolling my eyes, too.â
âPlease.â
âOkay, okay. You wore me down again. Youâre so persuasive, Mr. Faraday. Irresistible! Okay, here you go: Blah, blah, blah. Prelude, prelude, prelude.â
I burst out laughing. Thatâs fucked up. I never under any other circumstance would have disclosed my thoughts about âpreludeâ to a womanâespecially a woman Iâm trying to get into bed.
Holy Jonas! The author knows how to take her readers and give them a fun, hot, sizzling, blazing read to start your heart racing! The plot is original and she not only made it fun throughout because of the scenario but then goes and drew me into it with the kicker and twist of the story. Let me define my thoughts a little more. Jonas.. Womanizer, sexy, arrogant, but he definitely knows how tp deliver you to heaven. I would love to have a Jonas any day. Sarah, smart, curves, beautiful and is going to law school. How can these two meet. Well by chance of her job as an Intake agent of The Club. Now I can’t tell you about the Club its a secret and you have to read it. Trust me you will not be regretting you picked this diamond up. Has Jonas finally met his match when he meets Sarah because she is very very straightforward!!! I loved the bantor with the emails and then what he did afterwards because it was kind of like a lifeline for him. I loved the entire novel from beginning to end!!! When I tell you the author holds NOTHING back I mean it. I had laugh out loud, awww, and holy smokes moments. She definitely is very passionate in her writing and I am able to tell by reading this and how exceptionally this was written and flawless. This is a start to a trilogy but you will be invested and wanting to know what happens next especially after the WOW FACTOR the author distributes at the end. This is by far one of my favorite!! Check it out and see why I highly recommended THE CLUB! !!
