Excerpt:

‘First let me tell you what you’re going to be doing tomorrow. At sharp three thirty p.m. you will bend over this table, your elbows and hands and cheek pressed against the glass, your ass in the air barely covered by lace and some transparent material that rips easily. Baby doll nighties and thongs are my favorite at the moment. What you are doing is waiting for me to come and fuck you like the little bitch you are.’

My mouth drops open.

‘The rims of the thong will become soaked very quickly and you will consider using your sweating hands to masturbate to relieve the ache, but you will not. Instead you will keep that position, nipples and cunt tingling, and wait. The high heels you’ll be wearing-I like black- will make your calves cramp, but you will ignore it.’

My pussy clenches like a boxers fists, but I pretend to snort.

He ignores it. ‘At four I will turn up. You will not turn around to look at me or speak to me. No matter how wide your legs are I will have to correct the position by kicking apart your legs and flipping the last bit of covering over your back, so your ass is totally exposed to me. I will roughly rub your panties, find the jellied part, and dig my fingers into it. You will immediately raise your hips higher to try to catch more of my flesh, and moan the way you would if you were begging for it.

‘I’ll tell you to be quiet. That you are not to make a sound until I allow it. I will flick your clit through the material and your body will start bucking and squirming. At that moment I will swat you on the fleshiest part of your buttocks just once, but hard. My fingers might strike your clit. It will make your head spin and you are bound to cry out from the surprise. But if you do I will spank you again. Just to hear you cry out and see the blush spread. And again, until you are panting and dripping onto my hand. Excitement, shame, joy, desire.

‘Then I will back off, make myself a cup of tea and drink it while I stare at your reddened ass, ripe for the picking. Once I have had my tea I will undress. Slowly. You will strain to hear buttons, material scraping my skin, shoes sliding away, socks pulling, zip tearing. I will grasp the reddened, burning skin in my palms and feel its weight in my bare hands.’

I try not to show it but his dick is slowly growing inside me and I am starting to want him to fuck me all over again.

‘Then I will pull the warm red cheeks apart and holding them apart with one hand I will slide my finger into you, first one, then two and eventually three-the way you like it, the way I did the first night we met. You will moan, and shiver and maybe even grunt like an animal. Your head will start to lift off the table-you are about to come. That is the moment I’ll stop and will ask you to touch yourself. You will take your hand off the table and press it between your legs, turning your head to look at me while starting to masturbate.

‘”Do you want my cock in your pussy?” I will ask. “Yes,” you will whisper. I will ask you again. “Yes, yes,” you will plead.

‘And that is when I will ram so hard into you, you will shudder and scream and arch and quiver and come in a screaming rush.’

‘I won’t be in at three thirty p.m. or four p.m. tomorrow,’ I say coldly.

Light faded from the gloomy heavens as Shane climbed over his aunt and out of the passenger side of the cab. Ominous green clouds still choked the sky, but the air was calm and quiet. He walked a few yards away and turned around, staring absently at the wreckage and wanting to die. The truck door hung open, his aunt’s swollen feet sticking out. Crippling numbness overtook him, pressing in on all sides, as if he were being buried in wet cement. It invaded his mind, drowning his thoughts, and leaving only dejected questions that no one could answer. What was he supposed to do now? Why did he have to still be alive when everyone he loved was being taken from him?
“Help!” A girl’s hysterical voice ripped through his viscous daze like a bullet through a soda can. “Can you please? Help!”
The voice was pitched with agony and grief, but also very familiar.
Shane pivoted, the weight of his aunt’s nightmarish demise making it hard to move.
Two girls ran up the Douglas’ long, gravel driveway toward him. The taller one’s tangled, blonde hair billowed behind her. She wore cutoff blue jeans and a baggy, white T-shirt with crimson paint smeared across her chest. She dragged a shorter version of herself by the hand behind her as she ran. It took a second for Shane to register who it was.
“Kelly?” he shouted, his voice hoarse with shock. Struggling to break free of the catatonic state threatening to turn him into stone, he jogged heavily down the driveway to meet her.
“They killed my dad and my mom!” she shrieked, her eyes wild and her gaze darting like she expected some horror to jump out of the fields and attack her. “They went berserk and trampled them!”
“Wait—slow down.” Shane grabbed her shoulders to steady her. Her distress tore his mind away from the despair seeping through every part of his body, starving him for breath and welding his joints together. “Who killed your parents?” He realized the red on her clothes was fresh blood.

REVIEW BY SUE ELLEN

This is a great novel for any age to be able to read, from YA to adult. I enjoyed it because it had a little bit of everything and will have you on the edge of your seat. The cover is simple yet it reels you in to want a peak at what is inside of this novel. What do you think happens when children are left parentless? Well that’s exactly what this novel is about, it tells a story about the world being left without any adults and only children. Can they survive? What exactly happened to the adult population? That is part of this wonderful story you will have to open up to read!!! I would say definitely pick this one up and find out how the world can change children when it comes down to it. You will see new bonds form and new leaders take shape from the older children, of course there are still those that are chaotic and so with the new generations trouble takes a new meaning. You will see how those that were weak find their strengths and learn to work together to overcome obstacles that are thrown in their way. The main character basically gets thrown into the position and continuously questions himself if he can do the job he has been given! However, overall all of the characters that you meet you feel how they feel throughout the story. I loved how the plot thickened in some parts to add that extra tension and then in other parts lessoned to add that extra pull for the readers to keep following. The author will give you twists and turns and trust me if you are anything like me your mind will be swirling with emotions to try to figure out what happens next. The written style is impeccable and flawless. I know this is one series that I will have to follow because I want to know more and this is coming from someone that does not normally read YA novels on a normal basis. All I can say is wow to how she stops this first novel! This was a new author to my library and I can’t wait to keep adding her novels to my list. This is the start of an amazing series that you will want to keep up with to see what happens next. Hit your one-click button and get ready to have your mind blown away at the destruction!

Who will save the man that saves the world?

Paramedic Mickey Kendall hasn’t slept a full night since his return from Iraq. He rescues victims by day and protects the innocent after dark. Mickey doesn’t do it for glory; he wants absolution, not admiration. He lives by the rule: No personal contact after a rescue. That code meets the ultimate test when Mickey saves a child’s life on a roadside and declines the parents’ invitation to dinner at their upscale restaurant.

Master chef Amanda Greer lives by the principle that delicious food and good company build bridges. When she learns Mickey has refused her partners’ hospitality, she persuades him to change his mind. On the night the handsome paramedic visits her restaurant, Amanda joins him at his table, and their unexpected chemistry leads to a passionate kiss.

In Amanda’s arms, Mickey finds relief from the stressors that haunt him, but resists falling in love. When Amanda challenges him to confront his demons and accept the love she offers, Mickey arrives at a crossroad. The war-weary paramedic must face a different kind of battle to claim the woman who reignites his passion for living and revives his wounded heart.

(Book is rated PG-13. Sensual, but not explicit.)

They called you a hero in the press. Her dark lashes lowered and lifted and she smiled at him with admiration shining in her eyes. They were right, of course. What you did for Jack can never be repaid.

Mickey winced at the hero reference. I hate to disappoint you, but I only did what I’m trained to do.

Amanda made sounds of disagreement low in her throat. Elena told me at least a hundred and fifty cars passed her on the highway. Every one of them ignored her cries for help. Of all those people, don’t you think one might have been medically trained? Or at least cared enough to respond? No. You stopped. Only you.

Oh. He hadn’t thought of that.

She pointed a finger at his chest. There’s a difference between you and other people. There’s no other way to explain what happened on that roadway. Elena is convinced you’re special, and I never doubt her perceptions. That’s another reason why I wanted to meet you.

Mickey stared into Amanda’s eyes and her pupils dilated. Her lips parted, ever so slightly, as if to welcome a kiss. Her tongue touched the inside of her bottom lip and disappeared. Mickey knew then, she felt it too. Synergy. Chemistry. An attraction so powerful it turned kinetic on contact.

Some called it love at first sight.

Amanda. Even her name was beautiful.

She took a sip of her drink and he watched her mouth and throat work the liquid. When she set down the tumbler, she wiped a droplet from the corner of her mouth with a trimmed, unpolished fingertip. Mickey wished he could have swiped the bead away with his tongue.

Amanda leaned closer and pressed a hand to his wrist. Trained or not, you were the only stranger on that highway who had a heart.

Mickey laid his hand over hers and she let him keep it there. Until now, he wasn’t sure he still had a heart. His had been chipped away, piece by piece, like a block of ice since the war. He’d considered it long gone, with his soul. In mere minutes, what was left had thawed in the center, leaving him raw and exposed.

Amanda continued to speak; clearly unaware she’d stripped away another layer. I love Jack like he’s my own son. He’s a terrific kid. I’ve helped take care of him since the day the Martins and I started this restaurant. When you saved him, you saved us all. Amanda leaned in and pressed a quick, sweet kiss against Mickey’s jaw.

Their gazes locked when she sat back in her chair. The gravity of her words and her straightforward kiss humbled him into speechlessness. He’d been thanked many times before, but this woman had gotten to him like no one else. He squeezed her hand and then downed the rest of his drink. Amanda took another sip of hers and set the glass on the table before retreating into silence. She turned the tumbler slowly in her hands.

Mickey looked back at her and tapped two fingers against the menu’s leather cover. Nothing here is what I expected.

Amanda returned a quiet smile, either assuming he meant food choices, or pretending he had. She tucked her arms beneath her breasts and leaned forward against the edge of the table, lifting perfect white swells above the neckline of her red blouse. Organic means untouched by artificiality. Grown and consumed in its natural state. We eat only healthy foods unspoiled by chemicals, preservatives, hormones, steroids, antibiotics, and genetically modified seeds or cells. Pure.

Pure. Mickey gazed at the stunning woman by his side and sensed that was true for her, too. The texture of her skin looked smooth as cream and welcoming to the touch. He longed to run his hands along her thighs, imagining sleek roads leading to heaven at their apex. I like the sound of that. The way she looked back at him while he studied her face made him wonder if she’d read his mind.

The one that had gone dirty.

I have to say for a short novella this story packs almost everything a full novel would. It is not many that you can read and find it fulfilled with all the characteristics and plot that in my opinion to get a great review is needed with such a small amount of pages. The plot was very entertaining and kept my attention until the very last page, the downfall is that I was sad to see it end so fast. It was thorough and filled with lots of emotions. I loved how the author wrote Amanda because she had a stubborn and cant be bossed type attitude. When she knew what she wanted she went after it.Mickey on the other hand had some demons to slay and Amanda was perfect for that extra help. Sometimes you just need a side kick. This is one that is great for an afternoon read!
