If you read this you would not believe that this is only the second novel this author has written. This is the second part of a series I do recommend going back and reading the first (Covered in Coal) so you have more of a grasp on what is happening. Especially since it left you with mind blowing questions and a cliffhanger that will make you go crazy. Many questions get answered in Lies Beneath the surface! The author immediately takes off from where the first one ended without time past and continues to hold her audience until the very end. Be aware this is one emotional roller coaster. Her characters are amazingly written with open eyes on what each are thinking so you can feel their feelings and understand them more. Some you will hate others I loved even more but questioned their sanity. In the end who you think has been the evil person may not be. You find yourself wondering what could make someone hurt a caring and loving person. How will this love triangle work itself out. The author keeps you on your toes and feeds you bread crumbs to hang onto. Her storyline is exceptionally written and very original. This story made me want to cry at times while other times happy, angry, and hopeful. Lies and secrets have torn people apart throughout this, maybe truth will bring out the happy ever after.
Even though there is not a cliffhanger with this second one, I hear the author has plans to possibly write a third one. I really do hope she does because I cant wait to see what will happen in the next. The author did an impeccable job with this series and again I look forward to reading more in the future. I highly recommend this series to everyone!
Silla Webb is a Kentucky native, raised in the heart of the Eastern Kentucky coal fields. A coal truck driver’s daughter, and a railroader’s wife, the coal fields own a special place in her heart.
She is a work at home, Super Momma to three rowdy boys, who keep her on her feet from daylight to sunset. As a pass time from her everyday life, Silla started a blog-Momma’s Secret Book Obsession, for reviewing romance novels. From there, she realized that not only did she have a natural love for reading and reviewing, but she found that lost love of writing that she once had as a young girl.
When she isn’t conquering the world as a wife, momma and Super Woman, Silla loves to lay on the front porch swing and read while sipping sweet tea, just passin’ the day away.
