Blog Tour ~ A Moment in Paris by Danielle Wright

Title: A Moment in Paris

Author: Danielle Wright

Genre: Romanice/Erotica

Publication Date: January 2014

Tenley Clarkson has dreamed of being in Paris her whole life.  Experiencing all of the sights and culture the city has to offer, the last thing Tenley expects is to find herself enchanted by the emerald green eyes of Jayden Matthews.

Tenley is cautious about trusting anyone.  After being betrayed by her mother and her ex-boyfriend, her defenses are up, or at least she thought they were.  But Jayden breaks through her walls, making her feel safe and protected.  He has the power to consume her – mind and body.

Jayden Matthews knew it the second he saw her.  Tenley Clarkson belonged in his life; this beautiful woman who is hiding a world of pain and fear in her eyes.  He feels the need to protect her, to make her happy.  The smile on her face and the soft sound of her voice exhilarated him and calmed him all at once. He had never felt more alive.

As they explore Paris together, Jayden takes Tenley to places she’d only dreamed of.  Gives her moments she couldn’t imagine. A single moment of intense connection unfolds into love.

It was only one moment.  But that’s all it takes.  As tragedy strikes and threatens to tear them apart, can Tenley learn to trust and love?  Can Jayden prove that he will fight for her? Or will he betray her like she has been her whole life?

One moment is all it takes to change your life, to meet someone, to fall in love. One Moment is all it takes, to shatter your world completely, taking away everything you never knew you needed….

I love the Paris theme of this book and believe the author did a great job with researching about it and keeping to the culture. Even though at first it did take me  a little to get into the book including some spots that were slow, but after that I enjoyed it. When your in the city of love, anything is possible and I do believe in love at first sight just as this book. The characters she has created all the way down to the names are unique. Tenley has had a lot of pain and been through a lot to where she has a trust problem, but when she meets Jayden he seems to know how to slowly break down the walls. Only thing is there may still be something that is holding them apart.  I will have to say my favorite character in this book was Jayden and not because of the way he looks but he is the whole package in one for any women, sweet, loving, and sexy! If you enjoy a sweet and romantic romance this is one for you!

Interview with the Author

1. Did you always wanted to be a writer? If not what did you want to be?

No I didn’t actually, it sort of just happened. I use to tell stories when I was younger, like as in memorizing a storybook and then retelling it acting it out a bit. I loved my creative writing classes in high school. I have always had a million ideas going on in my head, characters talking and scenes playing out that I just decided to write it out and see what developed. I use to think I wanted to be a lawyer, then a teacher, now I’m pretty happy in my big girl job and I get to write which is an amazing thing.

2. When did you first consider yourself a “writer”?.
Um, I still don’t.  I don’t know what makes someone a writer, it just something I enjoy doing, so I guess that makes me a writer. I don’t know…. 🙂
3. How long did it take to get your first book published?
From actually starting to write the story until it was published was just under 16 months, I was writing a fanfiction story as well and had some other personal things going on that it took me longer to write it then I wanted but I wasn’t rushed, I feel that the story will come in it’s own time.
4. Do you do another job except for writing and can you tell us more about it?
I do, I am an Office Manager for my parents company. We work with collection companies and attorneys. So it’s ALOT of paperwork. Writing is my escape from my big girl job and reality sometimes.
5. What is the name of your latest book, and if you had to summarize it in less than 20 words what would you say?
The next book, is called ‘A Moment in California’ This is a continuation of Jayden and Tenley’s Story.  I couldn’t very well end it for good the way that Paris ended. California has more struggles, more of Tenley discovering who she is and overcoming her fears.
6. As a self-publisher, do you have any plans to submit to a publish company? It is my understanding some authors prefer to stay as a self publish author because of flexibility.
At the moment I plan to stay self-published, if a publishing company showed interest in my writing and stories then I would be very willing to talk with them and consider the idea.
7. How long does it usually take you to write a book, from the original idea to finishing writing it?
Well ‘A Moment in Paris’ like I said took me about a year to write the entire story. This next book seems to be coming a bit faster. I find that it really depends on if my characters want to cooperate with me.
8. What can we expect from you in the future? ie More books of the same genre? Books of a different genre?
Definitely more books! I think I am going to stick to this genre, I like romance, I am a hopeless romantic my self so anything less than a Happily Ever After is just simply unacceptable.  After I finish Tenley and Jayden’s story I have other plans, still a HEA but a darker story line.
9. What made you decide to write that genre of book?
I’m a hopeless romantic, I relate to my character Tenley, a lot actually, I do believe in true love and magic, believing in that makes the world seem a lot less scary. I feel bad for people who have lost sight of the little things, and the magic of everyday surroundings, the become so rundown by life that they forget what it’s like to believe in something good. That’s why I continue to believe, why I write what I do, just maybe it will give someone an escape and for a moment a chance to believe in something magical again.
10. Do you have a certain routine you have for writing? (ex. write better at nights, with music, etc)
Music is great for me to write, and that depends on my mood, I have a few playlists that I have on repeat. Hockey games are great too. I love watching my Avalanche play, and when they are on it’s like a calm for me and I get a lot of writing done. Also when I am out just driving, the story and scenes just play out in my head and then of course I fill up the memory on my phone with voice memos, and then I have to get home and write it all out. I have also written out scenes in emails on my phone and sent them to myself.
11. Do you choose a title first, or write the book then choose the title? How do come up with the titles?
‘A Moment in Paris’ just came to me. I had written about 3 or 4 chapters and in my head I kept thinking ‘wow what a great moment’ or ‘that’s a moment to remember’ and since they were in Paris it just worked. I do believe that a single moment can change your life whether it’s good or bad. For their second book since she is back home in California it just seemed natural. The books after their story I have no Idea how I will come up with the titles, I guess I will just have to wait to be inspired.
12. Are there any hidden messages or morals contained in your books?
Love is not easy, neither is life. You have to work for what you want. If something is worth having, and is important to you, then it’s worth the fight. Trust is huge too. Learning that not everyone is the same, not everyone has the same opinion of you, learning to accept someone’s good feelings towards you when all you are use to is bad, is a tough thing to go through. Following your heart is another. Also no matter how strong you are, what you have been through, allowing yourself to be cherished and taken care of by another is simply one of the best things you can do for yourself, of course doing so in return is just as rewarding.
13. Your favorite food is?
Mexican!!!! I can eat it every day all day.
14. Your favorite singer/group is?
Maroon 5, I love Adam he is just sexy sexy sexy. I also love Florida Georgia Line, Hunter Hayes, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean,… oh man I could go on forever so I will stop there. 🙂
15. Your favorite Author is?
Jamie McGuire, she gave me Travis Maddox and Cherise Sinclair, she gave me The Masters. 🙂

16. When you aren’t writing what do you do to relax?
I try to read whenever possible. I am still a major book geek. I love going to the movies, hanging out with friends and family.

Danielle Wright was born in California, but raised in Colorado where she currently resides. She has one younger brother and is close to her family. She loves to read, and has had that passion from a very young age, love stories always being her favorite. She has always loved telling stories and often found herself making up her own stories to tell. Danielle loves the idea that a story, even for just a little while, takes the reader away from everyday life and puts them in a world that they could only dream of. She truly believes that a good book will stay with you and even has the power to change your life. Once she decided to no longer let fear get in her way, Danielle began to bring her dream worlds to life, first as an escape for herself and then, hoping that someday, someone, somewhere, will find their escape in her world.

Danielle values her family and friends above anything else. When she is not reading or writing you can find her hanging out with her family, watching football, The Voice, Greys Anatomy, Sons of Anarchy or going to the movies or concerts with friends. She is a huge country music fan, although her favorite band is Maroon 5 and she has a major crush on Adam Levine. She loves anything Disney, and still believes in magic, fairy tales and true love.  She wants her readers to remember to smile, nothing horrible lasts forever. Also, that every moment is important because you never know which moment is going to change your life.
